COURSE INFORMATION

The course is designed for the learner who has the key task of conducting design, installation and planning of CCTV systems with efficiency and effectiveness.

The course unit is developed to enable learners to have the opportunity to build on their learning from Unit 1: Principles and Components of Security Surveillance Information Communications Systems.

The learner will develop a deeper understanding of the set up and configuration of surveillance systems including selection of cameras, lenses, recorders and cables when setting up security surveillance systems. The learner will acquire the knowledge and skill to assess operational and storage access requirements in the set up of security surveillance systems.

Importantly, the learner will delve into system design and installation. Video motion detection requirements, installation and inspection requirements are incorporated into the course content.

Moreover, the learner will be able to understand and evaluate the commissioning and testing processes for security surveillance systems.

Overall, the course aims to deliver a good balance of theory and real-life practical exercises. This will better enable the learner to perform at the workplace and generate practical, functional and achievable solutions for the client.
