COURSE INFORMATION

The course serves as an introduction for learners who are entering the industry for the first time or a timely refresher for experienced professionals who need to move forward with the times, away from more traditional technologies.

This unit has been developed to enable the learner to have the opportunity to operate the intruder alarm systems as well as carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of the intruder alarm system.

  • Describe the different Control and Indicating Equipment
  • Describe the Signalling Systems
  • Understand the power system used in Intruder Alarm System
  • Describe the commissioning and maintenance procedure

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • The learner will be able to identify different types and nature of alarms
  • The learner will be able to arm and disarm different types of alarm monitoring equipment
  • The learner will be able to report locations of intrusion incidents to immediate supervisors based on organisational procedures
  • The learner will be able to adopt basic response actions in accordance to organisation procedures
  • The learner will be able to detect and report any equipment fault to supervisors
  • The learner will be able to complete relevant documentation relating to alarm equipment

MODE OF LEARNING

Primary mode of learning for this course is Face-to-Face Classroom session. This will be supplemented with interactive Practical sessions which serves to connect newly-learned knowledge and skills with the realities of the workplace and jobs.

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

$4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year

AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee
