Course Information

This 5-day UAPL course is developed to prepare participants for the UAPL theory test administered by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the UAPL practical assessment. Designed for individuals without prior experience in unmanned aircraft (UA) operation, this course equips aspiring UA pilots with the necessary knowledge and skills to attain the Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL limited to multi-rotor up to 25kg. Additionally, this UAPL course offers complimentary UA basic training (UABT) through online modules, allowing participants to gain fundamental knowledge of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

This course is suitable for aspiring UA pilots without prior experience in UAS operations to attain their Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL limited to multi-rotor up to 25kg.

Theory Module

The 1-day theory training comprises of the following 6 modules below:

  • e-Learning Module:  UA Basic Training
  • Module 1: General UAS Knowledge
  • Module 2: Principles of Flight and Simulation
  • Module 3: Air Law
  • Module 4: Navigation and Meteorology
  • Module 5: Human Factors
  • Module 6: Safety and Operations

Practical Module

The 4-days practical training comprises of the following 10 modules below:

  • Module 1: UAS Assembly and Pre-flight Inspection
  • Module 2: General Knowledge of UAS Functions
  • Module 3: Take-off and Precision Hovering
  • Module 4: Level Square Circuit with Nose-out Orientation
  • Module 5: Level Square with Changing Orientation
  • Module 6: Ascending/Descending Square Circuit with Changing Orientation
  • Module 7: Figure of ‘8’ Circuit
  • Module 8: Precision Landing
  • Module 9: Mission Planning and Execution
  • Module 10: UAS Post-flight Inspection

Assessment Module

The practical assessment will only be conducted once the participant have passed the UAPL theory test.

The following are required on the practical assessment date:

  • Original photo identification (i.e. original NRIC/FIN/Passport)
  • Original UAPL (if any)

Failure to produce any of the above documents on your practical assessment date will not be entertained and will be re-scheduled.

  • Practical Training
    • Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • Location: Tanglin Rugby Club, 192 Turf Club Road / Field along Old Holland Road / Field along Kranji Close
  • UAPL Practical Assessment
    • Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Location: Tanglin Rugby Club, 192 Turf Club Road / Field along Old Holland Road / Field along Kranji Close
