    • Smartphone with an internet connection and QR code scanner function (this will be used during the POLWEL assessment

Course Information

  • Comprehensive understanding of remote surveillance principles, techniques, and technologies, including various surveillance systems and their applications.
  • Practical skills in operating and managing surveillance equipment, encompassing setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in monitoring surveillance feeds, interpreting data, and accurately analyzing situations to identify security threats and take appropriate action.

Key Content

  • LU1: Perform operational checks and troubleshooting on remote security surveillance equipment in accordance to organisational procedure
  • LU2: Identify areas prone to security incidents
  • LU3: Interpret behaviour to identify potential security incidents
  • LU4: Monitor and respond to security incidents

Learning Outcomes

  • Operate the surveillance equipment for remote surveillance in accordance to organisational procedure
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of the surveillance equipment
  • Identify abnormal behaviours through the augmented video analytics technology
  • Analyse behaviours that can lead to security incidents.
  • Report security incidents to relevant stakeholders through technology.
  • Complete relevant documentation relating to CCTV operations.

Mode of Learning

Primary mode of learning for this course is Face-to-Face Classroom session. This will be supplemented with interactive role play sessions which serves to connect newly-learned knowledge and skills with the realities of the workplace and jobs.

UTAP Funding:

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee

Note: Courses/Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim
