  • The WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) for Security Technology (CCTV 1) refers to a credential awarded under Singapore’s Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system. The WSQ system, developed by Skills Future Singapore, is designed to provide skills training and certification across various industries to enhance employability and career progression.
  • The Hikvision Security Associate (HSA) – CCTV certification can enhance a professional’s credibility in the security industry. It provides recognition of their expertise with Hikvision products and can improve career prospects. This certification is a stepping stone for those looking to deepen their knowledge and advance to more specialized Hikvision certifications, such as the Hikvision Certified Security Professional (HCSP) or Hikvision Certified Security Expert (HCSE).
Key Content
  1. Understanding Security and Surveillance Fundamentals
    • Explain the basic concepts of video surveillance, including the differences between analog and IP systems.
    • Describe the key components of a CCTV system, such as cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and monitoring stations.

  2. Hikvision Product Knowledge
    • Identify and describe the various Hikvision products, including cameras, recorders, video management software (VMS), and other related devices.
    • Understand the features, capabilities, and applications of Hikvision’s product line.

  3. Installation and Configuration Skills
    • Perform the installation and initial configuration of Hikvision cameras, NVRs, and DVRs.
    • Set up and configure network settings, including IP addressing and bandwidth management for security systems.

  4. Video Management System (VMS) Proficiency
    • Demonstrate proficiency in using Hikvision’s video management software for monitoring, recording, and playback of video footage.
    • Configure user permissions, alerts, and other VMS features to optimize security operations.

  5. Troubleshooting and Maintenance
    • Diagnose common issues with Hikvision devices and systems, and implement appropriate troubleshooting techniques.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of Hikvision security systems.

  6. Compliance and Best Practices
    • Understand and apply relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to video surveillance and data protection.
    • Implement industry best practices in the design, installation, and management of security systems.

Learning Outcomes
  • Operate different types of CCTV equipment according to organisational procedures
  • Check and ensure that Hikvision CCTV recording devices are of operational status
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting and report Hikvision CCTV equipment faults to the supervisor
  • Operate different types of Hikvision CCTV equipment to capture relevant evidence in accordance to operational procedures
  • Identify and report subjects, scenes, actions, and time captured on different types of CCTV equipment in accordance to organisation procedures
  • Complete relevant documentation relating to CCTV operations

SkillsFuture Credit:

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding

UTAP Funding:

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee

Note: Courses/Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim
